Why?

This is my personal opinion. Don’t get me wrong. Why must we pay up at least S$2000 to get a driver’s license here in Singapore? Not to mention the extra fees for retest. I think it is a mere waste of money to get a car license and up to S$150,000 to even get a decent car. And you got to pay COE, parking coupons, fines if you got any, vehicle test, car insurance, petrol fees and furthermore installments if can’t pay up in full. You will end up paying even more for what the actual car is worth. This same amount can feed so much hunger stricken people in Southeast Asia alone. The people here work all their lives just to pay this amount.

The buying of flat here is almost the same cost of a decent car. Condos, bungalows and even semi-detached houses can cost up to an S$1 million and even more. You just imagine so much money wasted on just one house. But the people here just are suffering, as they can barely cope up with the payment of the house. It is even worse if you already got a car. Just imagine a typical guy with a pay of S$1200 (before CPF) CPF means Central Provident Fund. It is a system every Singaporean has when he or she starts working. They will take a portion of your salary for later use of buying flats, paying medical bills or other stuff. Let me just say one thing almost every one here a flat to live in. At least we got a flat to live in. But the prices must drop to entice more people to buying cars and housing.

Let’s say Robin’s monthly pay of S$1200. But after CPF deduction his pay is only S$1044. The usual deduction is 13% of your pay. He can’t even keep some money for himself, as all the money are almost spent on the flat and the car. If he has a family to support, his wife will have to work to support him, but still it is not enough as their income is barely enough to run the family. So expensive the things are in Singapore, but yet we are just getting the same pay but job overload.

Leaving Singapore

In a undecided turn of events i decided not to pursue my part time diploma in Singapore. I decided to save my money and settle down in USA and study IT or some other computer fields. I feel that the more i stay here the worse my career is going to be. So i would leave this country once and for all. I badly need a change in my life. So probably next year or two will be my last year in Singapore.

Brooklyn!!! Brooklyn!!!

I finally managed to get this tag team photo. A very cool tag team photo. Cryme Tyme is their name and stealing is their game. In fact they can wrestle as well. One of the new and upcoming tag teams in the WWE. Very street like characters and seems to click with the WWE fans. Soon to be tag team champions. Their names are JTG and Shad Gaspard. So Brooklyn!!! Brooklyn!!!

What Country am i living in?

The year comes to an end. New year begins. I want to make a impact next year. I really want to do it. I want to save as much money as i can and move to the United States of America. I want to go there and study Mechanical Engineering or some computer studies. Most probably get a degree in it. Why do i do this probably people ask me?. It's a kind of lesson a painful lesson that i learned when i was in sec 4. It was my maths paper that i flung. So after so many years, i ignored it. Then one day i suddenly felt the urge to do maths like a shredding machine. I started to buy maths books and borrowed library books. At first it seem difficult then slowly inch by inch i crawled my way out. And now i can do some of it. I hope by next year i can do maths without fear. Another question people ask me, so old 25 years old don't you want to work and settle down?. I told them if you think like that you will never prosper. Like you study so much and work a sustainable job that can support you and your family for the rest of your life.

I don't want to study so much and earn a living that can barely support yourself here in Singapore. Most of the locals here are like workaholics. I am sick and tired of living in this country. Every time you land a job, they care more about the work than you. they pile on the work but still pay you the same amount come the end of the month. Still working full time on Saturday?. Isn't this day is to spend time with your family?. These people too want to spend their time with their families. Give people more welfare than asking them to do more for the job. The basic concept is if you keep your workers happy they will work happily. If you give them more work they will work unhappily.

Furthermore finding a job here is so hard. Every time a basic requirement is must be able to speak Chinese and have a class 3 license. I mean they call this a multi -racial country but you see Chinese is the majority race here. All the other races are a minority. And to get a driver's license is so hard cause it would cost you at least $2000 and above. And furthermore if you fail the test you are gonna pay more. The public transport is climbing. Prices are on a constant increase. GST (Goods Service Tax) has been risen from 3% to 5% and now 7% next year onwards.

Why must i suffer here and listen to the government?. I want to break away form this country and never to return back to this country for ever. I hope by end of 2007 i have enough money to go to USA.

Finallly figured it out

Finally figured it out how to add links to my blog site. It took sometime for me with my brother's help i was able to do it. It is fun though getting stuck and see what are the solutions to a problem. I love to solve PC problems rather than technical ones. Although my trade is in the technical line.

England Misery

Being a English fan is very hard. I started supporting England at 1994. That's 12 years now and i still don't get on how they play. It seems they are always short on the creativity and vulnerable on the back line. No matter how many managers come and go, they are always the same. New faces but still no flair upfront. Free flowing football is seemingly eluding from the English game. The country that modernized football is now being a clown of soccer.

Not being able to defeat teams like Croatia. Like come on England get your grip on and stop wasting your time on the media. Start producing on the pitch like champions. Take a look at Germany it opened the eyes of football and showed how attacking play should be done. This is far most the scariest German attacking play. I am most impressed with them and i am sure that everyone agrees with me. Short of the World Cup but proved to the world that Germans are not to be taken out easily in soccer. It is not the might of the team but the unity of the team that will overcome any obstacles.

The living costs in Singapore

I live in this island. 640sq km south of Malaysia. People may think that this island is a wonder to behold. But for the many locals here life is diffcult. Transport fares are constantly are on the rise and housing can cost you almost 3/4 of your lifetime savings. Buying a car is = buying a flat in Singapore. Although i am a Singaporean but just hear our pleas. We can't keep up like this with the goverment rising prices like these. I hope more Singaporeans will come forward and demand a decline in housing, transportation and other stuffs. We have to stand up and speak for ourselves. We control the goverment not the goverment control us. People learn driving less than $1000. But in Singapore $2000 and above can be the cost just for drving a car? I mean $2000 can do you wonders. Why spend it on a driving course so expensive and still even more on your brand new car. Hospital bill are also on the rise. Why can't we citizens live in peace?. National service for 2 years?. Ridiculious. Wasting our 2 years. Why can't we do it in 1 year?. And just forget it. Must do reservist up to the age of 40. I am sick and tired of living in this country. I want to be in a another country. Although it is hard at first but there is a certainty that i can enjoy for the rest of my life. Why must we suffer so much.?

World Cup

FIFA World Cup 2006 Germany

Knock Out Stages

Round 16
Germany 2 Sweden 0 (Munich)
Argentina 2 Mexico 1 (Leipzig)
Italy 1 Australia 0 (Kaiserslautern)
Switzerland 0 Ukraine 3 (Colonge)
England 1 Ecuador 0 (Stuttgart)
Portugal 1 Holland 0 (Nuremburg)
Brazil 3 Ghana 0 (Dortmund)
Spain 1 France 3 (Hanover)

Nations that are knocked out
Sweden - Always seem to go past the group stages but wind up with tough teams in later stages.

Mexico - A north american favourite but seems to lack fire power

Australia - Incredible job of going past the group stages but only to lose out to Italy on a late penalty.

Switzerland - Surprised everyone on the group stages by topping the group but created a record the first team to miss all the penalties.

Ecuador - Did well. Lost to Germany. Then out of the World Cup by a Beckham Special freekick.

Holland - Remains as a unlucky team

Ghana - Did Africa proud. Beating the Czechs and USA. Losing out to Brazil.

Spain - Always seem to be overboard with the luck they have. Easy qualifying groups and group stages, but can't seem to click it on the knock out stages.

Nations that are going to the next round
Germany - Favourites to win. Their attacking play has given other nations to be feared of. Host nation, the whole country is behind them.

Argentina - After the whitewashing of Serbia and Montenegro they look to continue their form under Jose Peckerman.

Italy - Looking strong to win thier 4 World Cup despite Pesotto attempting to commit suicide.

Ukraine - Lost to Spain in the opening game, but picked up their gear and going past Spain who are favourites to win the World Cup.

England - Clueless of how they play but managed to top group B. Barely beat Ecuador and Owen out of the World Cup due to an injury.

Portugal - After a battle with Holland that ended in 4 red cards and 14 yellow cards, Maniche scored the only goal to seal the Dutch's fate.

Brazil - Need i say more the samba flair, 5 times World Cup Champions. Always the favourites to win the World cup again.

France - A lucky Houdini escape to the next round. Seeing off Spain. Zizou is back. And the 1998 World Cup champions hoping to see some kind of magic from Hendry as they face off against Brazil in the Quater-Finals.

Education in Singapore

I am an ex- ITE student. I recently finished my 2 years studies in Air conditioning and Refrigeration. I graduated in April 06. I went to look for a polytechnic to finish my education and get a diploma in some field. When I asked one of the lecturers there he told me that you can’t enter the field you want because we don’t accept ITE student and your field is not relevant. So much hope to enter a poly but then they don’t give a damn about you and they think ITE students can’t make it. You need certain criteria to enter the poly. But why you build such a big place for students to learn?. Ask yourself knowledge is ever expanding. You went to a technical school and study, but they won’t accept you because you are not a COM (Certificate of Merit) student or an “O level” student who has failed in his English, Math. I think why don’t you people give those who haven’t got a COM or students who failed in their O levels a chance in the polytechnic to study?.
If the O level student fails in English or Math give him a chance and you will see that people given a chance they will strive harder and will get a diploma, rather than those who waste their life in poly doing nothing but creating trouble. All I can say is education here sucks cause people want to learn you never give them a chance to study but instead get people who come to poly and waste their time.

Hey you lecturers think for yourself if your son or daughter ends up in a situation like the above imagine how would your children feel? How would you feel?. You people carry on like this you will go down in my record books depriving students who can study but just needs help to brush up their studies. All you lecturers think you are the greatest in your field but I promise you that you are nuts when compared to the other countries lectures, because they are far more experienced in the industry then you will ever will be. Anyway all you guys know are the basics. Show off that you are a lecturer in a poly, got car, a condo but in reality you are just like one of us. Step out of the poly life and see what people less educated than you can achieve. Their feat are more than you put all your years of teaching.

How much more i need to suffer?

The pain i through after my Ns is even more daunting one. So hard to land a job. So !@#4. No benefits, no payslip, cash payment. No company transport. Hell what i am doing to my life??. My path is a dark path with no lights shining. Someone help me. I just hope the day of my freedom comes soon enough for me. Falling sick often. I really need someone to help me boost my career and confindence. So little money but so many things need to purchase.

Driving Lessons

You know something folks, driving lessons should be a breeze in any country. Not here in Singapore. The reason I am saying this is that, I paid around freaking $2000 Singapore dollars for my driving lessons. Three times I took my driving tests and I failed in all of them. Reasons are as follows:

1. He charges $25 for one hour of driving
2. $48 for circuit and his fees
3. Never comes on time (half an hour late for both of my tests)
4. Never tells me the finer points of driving. (what to look out for those
stuff)
5. Ask him to book circuit it’s like waiting for a miracle to happen.
6. Test fees are $198 (including car insurance)
7. Gives me lame reasons that circuit is full that kind of pack of lies

After the third test my uncle called me, I told him the problem. He told me that he will talk to him. Then the next day my uncle called and told me I was scared to drive and every time I said I got something to do, and drop off early. I got so pissed off that I vowed that I never take any recommendation from anyone. It is best that I go and check it out myself.

Now I took another private driving school. It is cheaper, but the instructor is getting on my nerve. He tells me that I drive slowly on a main road. 20km/h. The traffic is heavy. How do you expect me to drive fast?. He keeps on yawning. The reason is that I drive slowly. I told him my parking is weak but he told me you park like a tortoise. In my heart I told myself, I rather park slowly than park fast. Came and tell me I cannot park straight and told me 7 tests all like that. You can never get a driver’s license. I told myself even I can’t pass my driving, I can get a technical job, unlike you who know nothing but only how to teach people to drive. Every single day this pain is getting worse and worse. Why you spend so much money on driving and you get crap shit people who waste your time, never teaching you the right way and not motivating you to get your license. Shit you people. I tell you this is the one of the worse country if you want to take driving lessons. Traffic police even tells me I need more effort. Imagine you gave it all and people come and tell you this thing? . Sucks!!! The driving experience here I gained sucks big time. Needless to say I had it with driving in Singapore.

Never lay down for anybody!!!

This is my lesson learnt from my experince learnt from the ouside working world. During my short stint as a worker in a company, I learnt that they are two types of people.

Firstly the people who befriends you and then the moment you need them the most they will ignore your pleas for help and dump you away, living you to your own miseries. Secondly the people who constantly peck you down for orders and make you do their job while they take a break. Believe me their break is not 10 or 15 mins, it is about half and hour or half a day, sometimes a whole day. I say to all this people you always give excuses and do nothing claiming you got tests to do family problems and other crap!!!!

Well you might escape now but then you will see the down side of your life. Those who work tirelessly they are the ones who will see the full potential of their capabilites. I say to those kind of suckers you can burn in hell as far as i am concerned. Don't come crying to those who have prospered in life. Cause you people made a fool out of yourselves. And i say don't do their jobs let them do it themselves. If they bribe you just tell them off, you are not my boss or my superior to tell me what job should i do for you. Can you do your job?. If you can't just sit down and watch the sky fall, perhaps it might give you gold coins.
